In summer of 1980, Iran's religious lead up eliminating opposition to their rule. To stamp out secular leaders and religious moderates within the country's universities they announced a cultural revolution to "cleanse" them of non-Islamic elements. Mehdi Khorasani was a maths student who, along with some of his fellow students, tried to resist.

As part of my masters degree me and my fellow MA's where contacted by the BBC World Service to illustrate a series of interviews that aired on BBC Radio about a myriad of issues. I was in charge of animating the Iranian Cultural Revolution; a challenging subjects due to its sensibility. I used a variety of techniques, mainly using Photoshop and After Effects. I was inspired by the work of Marlene Satrapi's Persepolis and press cuttings of the time.
